Make-up application

Hey slay ladies it’s that time again, since we have all the equipment to look fabulous its time for me to share my information regarding application. Yes you heard right this is a tutorial.

Lets start with the basics make sure you have washed your face and you’ve done your daily skin care regime (wash, toner and moisturiser). Spray your face with rose-water before you apply anything. Now you can get to the fun stuff, firstly make sure you have either a foundation brush or a beauty blender (The Body Shop sells one for R50), I would prefer the beauty blender. Using your finger (cause we cheapskates) apply the foundation on your face however you like. TIP: always make your beauty blender damp, really let it soak up the water and squeeze it out. Now using your damp beauty lender dab your face with the blender until the foundation looks smooth and sort of natural (really getting in those difficult corners).

Contour baby contour, with an angle brush I applied the powder using this amazing TIP: looking at the tip of your ear following the line to my mouth I start contouring at top of my cheek using my guide lines and stopping my contour at the apple of my cheeks. If you have a big forehead like me then contouring at the top of it is a must. I also contoured in the crease of my eye, to just add some emphasis to my eyes, do this by using a blending brush, its quick and simple. If your someone who loves the glow apply a highlight on your cheek bone making a c shape towards your brow bone. Here is a photo to help you contour according to your face shape, as we all have different face shapes, this is something that a few of us know.Related image

If I’m being honest doing a glamour liner is not a fun game for me, I really struggled with the Essence liner here. With the liner pen the only advise I can give you here is breathe and be very careful, start off with drawing a very thin line from inner corner out. TIP: when doing a wing don’t attempt to close one eye. Rather lift your head a little almost like you are literally looking down at the mirror, this will help you to draw a nice line. Semi close your one eye and draw a small wing from your outer corner of your eyelid, this will give you a guide line for a great wing. Once you’ve done all of that you can start thickening your line, starting at the outer corner.

I feel like I don’t really have to explain how to apply mascara I’m pretty sure that we have all applied mascara at some point in our lives but TIP: when doing your bottom lashes don’t put the mascara brush in the same angle as you do for the top lashes, use it vertically up.

End this great look off with any of your favorite lipstick. If your someone who likes it natural then just put some gloss, if your bold like me then go bright or dark. Lastly spray your face with the rose-water as a setting spray.

Something to always remember is that once your done doing your make-up, always wash your brushes the next day or when you come back home that night. Use Bioscrub (this is a special soap that doctors use to disinfect their hands) to firstly disinfect your brushes then wash them with hair shampoo, using a small towel to lay all the wet brushes down in a place where they will be safe over night (don’t use hot water to wash your brushes).
